How can you help? |
Many non-profits are unsuccessful due to money constraints; however, Tinitiative has not run into this problem thus far. We choose our projects very carefully and try not to overextend our resources. In addition, we are continuously applying for grants. If you are aware of a grant that could apply to our organization please advise us via email. In order for us to reach massive populations we continue to need your financial contribution. Receipts will be distributed to contributors, at their request and WE ARE REGISTERED WITH THE LOCAL AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Money contributions (money orders or checks) can be sent to the address below or online contributions can be made by clicking on the following link:

Questions To Ask Charities and Yourself Before Donating Your Monies or Time
#1 Can you clearly communicate who they are and what they do? If the organization can not clearly define the reason they are around than you should move on and not look back. Simply stated, this is a sign that they are unorganized and possibly not serious about their cause(s). There are several organizations fighting for the same cause so find one that is organized and solidified (board members, bylaws, article of incorporations, 501(c)(3) status, etc). #2 Can you define your short-term and long-term goals? Once again, if the organization is clueless or unclear this is a sign that they have no idea of how the funds will be delegated, which should be a concern for any taxpayer. #3 Can you tell me the progress it has made (or is making) toward its goal? Even if the nonprofit is a grassroots organization there still should be some sort of progress (i.e bylaws, articles of incorporation, etc.). So there is no excuse for not being able to answer this question. If the question goes unanswered than once again you have a red-flag for that particular charity. #4 From the information you obtained (ask yourself): a. Do the programs make sense? Each person is different. What makes sense to one person may not make sense to the next; therefore, make sure that the programs make sense to you. Ask question if areas or points seem unclear, for your contribution along with others directly relates to the success of the program. b. Can you trust the charity? Don't ignore what you have heard or seen. Research, research, research! This may mean picking up the phone and calling the president of the company, which should be available to answer any questions or concerns. Do whatever it takes make sure you can trust the organization to do what they set out to do. c. Are you willing to make a long term commitment? Charitable organizations need a long-term commitment. People fighting for the same cause(s). If you give once than give continuously, for one contribution is appreciated by several contributions can help even more. Ask yourself if you can afford to do so.
